Tour de Bintan, great event and well organised and part of UCI Gran Fondo World Championship qualification.
Bintan is Indonesian island, 60min ferry ride from Singapore, The routes take cyclists along stunning coastal roads, past dense lush green forests and cheerful villagers enjoying the dramatic spectacle of speed and colours.
It was our 2nd trip to Bintan and we loved it. We stayed both times in Lagoi Bay, which is part of the Bintan Resorts area (part of the island with the hotels where locals don't live). Lagoi was very quiet with lovely beach , few restaurants and hotels and still recovering from the Covid.
The road conditions are good and cycling is very enjoyable. The locals are quite friendly and kids often wave you when you pass them on the bike.
