Wales - 07/10

Wales is our most favourite place in UK - we used to go there at least once a year for more than 10 years and always stayed in Betws-y-Coed on campsite Rynys and always climb the Snowdon (yes, some may find it boring but we really enjoy it). We just love this place. After 3 years break we decided to return and camp on the same camping we always do - Rynys (and owner lady remembered us and knew where our spot is - we must be so predictable)

This time we took it easy age is catching up with us (not really, we still feel young, Mike just completed IM last week so still a bit sore).
Instead of walking we decided to explored area of Betws-y-Coe and visit Bodnat Gardens, run by National Trust

Conwy with XIII century castle

Penhryn Castle in Bagnor from XV century, probably the once of the most homely castles we've ever seen; on grounds of it there is railway museum

The trip to Wales could not be without climbing Snowdon 1,085 m (3,560 ft); we opted for our favourite route Horseshoe (12km) starting from Pen-y-Pass, this Snowdonia walk crosses Y Lliwedd to reach Snowdon's summit and the return is the Pyg Track;

There is 7 major routes and after trying most of them we believe this is the nicest one, challenging enough as it takes you through everything you want with gorgeous glacial lakes, panoramic views that will take your breath away. It took us 3:30hrs to get up (yes, not PB and slow bur what can I say, age is catching up ..) and going down definitely better performance, only 1:20hr.

On way back we stopped in Welshpool to visit Povis castle - nice place with spectacular garden, pity it wasn't sunny

Wales never disappoints us even when weather is not good. We just love this place.
